To sign up as an affiliate at ClickBank, all you have to do is go to Clickbank.com and sign up for an account.

When you sign up, you need to give ClickBank your physical address (within their accepted countries), because they will be mailing you a check for your commission. CREATING YOUR AFFILIATE LINK AND WAYS OF PROMOTING YOUR PRODUCTS

When you have decided on a product to promote, create your affiliate link (hop link) as this is a tracking code to use on your web pages in order to receive your commission from Clickbank and it will be send to you as soon as you finish choosing a product to promote.

Next you need to find a way to promote the product. The best way for newbie affiliates to promote products is by article marketing as this method is free. Go to Google and type in "Google keyword tool" and click on Google Adwords Keyword Tool. This is a free keyword tool by Google and is a great way to find some good keywords to use in your articles.

The next thing to do is to write some articles based around your keywords. The articles should be around 250 to 500 words using good grammar and correct spelling. Let me hint you a secret that so many successful affiliate marketers use to make much sales and drive much traffic to their sites.

Here is the secret- ensure you write and submit articles about your products three times a week.

But the little challenge with this site is that: Affiliate links are not allowed so you will need a landing page to send your readers to.

A free site you can use to make a landing page is Squidoo.com. At Squidoo you can make a web page (called a lens) and they do allow affiliate links. A lens consists of modules that you can use to add text, graphics and videos plus much more. Check it out for yourself. Squidoo lenses are great fun to make.

Another free site you can use is Blogger.com. Blogger is a free publishing tool from Google where you can set up your own blog and use it to promote your affiliate products just like my blogsite you are reading from now.

Having selected a product the next step is to decide whether to direct customers straight to the merchant's sales page or to set up your own website or blog where you could review the product and then relay your customer on to the merchant. There are points in favour of both methods.

Sending the potential customer directly to the vendor's site involves less work for the Marketer, but reduces their opportunities for earning income.

But I strongly recommend setting up a website or blog that allows the marketer the option of collecting the customer's name and email address with the chance to then make further offers to the customer and this method is also recommended by experienced and successful marketers.
